• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Can you explain a bit more please
If Aprons are created in a separate xml file by the user, the current import xml procedure ignores it. I posted this on 11th Feb 2019 under the heading
Import XML seems to do nothing . You said you had put if on the list at that time, hence why I said it was a memory jog. I have created a program to import KML from Google Earth and generate BGL files with the aprons to a high degree of accuracy. However, as I can't import them into ADE, they remain independent entities instead of being part of the ADE Data. The thread from 11th Feb provides both the project and the XML generated.

Many Thanks
Martin

No. Not unless they happen to be part of the process of ensuring that 1.79 is stable and goes into a production version. To be honest I check now and again to see what is new but that's it. Once I know that 1.80 (the next production version) is running smoothly then I will certainly be looking at the list for the next dev version

Use case: I edited a payware airport in ADE (i.e. EDDF). At one point the developer pushes out a new version, and with a new AFD as well. Then I cannot compare the ADE's on one PC... It would be really convenient to have multiple ADE's open at the same time allowing you to easily copy and paste from one ADE to another.

Hope you consider this feature :pushpin:

a status light on the compile button, just like the save status

how many times i've done some edits. then leave and forget if i remembered to compile

Ability to select either a single line or extended taxiway centerline while creating a taxi link. Currently, I overlay the extended line over the default centerline and these never match. More challenging is when the taxiway centerline is curving. See the attached file.

Some guidelines on creating sloped runways. Also, for sloped runways, an option to turn-off/turn-on temporarily the elevations in those black rectangles. These come in the way while creating taxipoints, etc.

My favorite: Ability to create runways by endpoints. This is how runway data is defined by FAA. Also second on the ability to import image files easily. A nice routine to create the images from google earth then automatically import them would be really useful.

Wish: Sloped Aprons: I can change individual node altitudes but the apron remains at the main altitude.

All these flattening objects, like aprons, runways and taxiways create a trench underneath, which can be seen from the side. In other words, one can look under the runway. It always hovers over the terrain. Can this be improved?

It is a tedious process to a fit a runway etc to the terrain. There should be a tool, helping to find the best altitudes for the nodes, getting this from the default terrain oder addon mesh.

Hello,

It could be cool and interesting if we can open a scenery BGL ou ADE file from every version of FS (FS9, FSX, P3D...) and can save it or compile it to another version (without passing time to decompile and open xml)

Not sure I understand. You can try to load a bgl file or ade project file from any version into another but since later versions usually contain code that is not available before then an error will arise. Loading an older FSX version file into a later will generally work although there may be fixes needed

Jon, I think he's looking for a converter function that would remove all such code automatically?
Yes exact.

Sorry I'm not English native speaker so I try to do my best when writing It's not always easy. But it's exactly that. The possibility to convert using ADE.
