• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 No object found in the file error

Hi, I started mu own project for 1 week now and I have a problem with MCX.
I modelised my building with Sketchup.
I export the 3D without texture with .dae file, I load it in my MCX, it's work, I export it and then when I set the building on ADE, my P3D V4 crash so I load my BGL on MCX and I founded a message " No object found in file"

So I tried to managed some setting but always the same..

Hi,

To what format did you export the model from MCX? As a BGL or a MDL file? And did you convert the textures to a format the P3D can use (no not JPG or PNG)?

The BGL file you made with ADE can only contain the placement information of the model (it depends if you include the MDL in there or not). If it only has the placement information, you need a second library BGL file that contains the model.

Hi, I export my model as a BGL file and my model don't have texture yet (but it's work, somebody export my model from his MCX and it's work very fine.)
If I export it like a MDL I have this message
"MDLXReader Error This is not a supported MDL file, file is of type PV20"

I think your are using version 1.3, try the development release.

I should really make a new stable release, but I'm lacking the time to update the manual to match the new version. So that's why it is taking longer than I would like.
