• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADEX 1.60 Library Objects Data

It seems when I released ADE 1.60 that the version for FSX contains my personal database of objects and not the standard stock list. As a result there are a lot of libraries and objects in there that you will probably not have in your sim. I am wondering if it is best to release a proper standard database or to provide details of the libraries needed to match what is in ADE.

The real problem is that some users may place these in ADE and then wonder why they do not show up in the sim.

So this is a WARNING - if you use objects from the ADEX Library Object List then please be sure that you have the libraries installed in Sim.

I vote for this "provide details of the libraries needed to match what is in ADE.":D

Thanks,
Alan

The text file of the scenery you downloaded should tell you where to get the needed libraries. If not, try AVSIM and Flightsim.com.

Jon,
I would like an adeObjectList.dat file for FSX and FS9 containing only the standard objects.
I have a painfuly maintained file for my custom objects consisting FS9 and FSX objects vice versa.
Given that I could maintain the object file. Otherwise , this will be much work.
Thanks,
Christian

That is certainly how ADE will work in future versions.

Install ADE onto another computer or something similar, then save that dat file for future reference.

I now copied my ADE 1.55 object data file. Works as usual.
FS9 and FSX data are again congruent.

Well guys, as you might have seen in an other post I tumbled over missing default library objects as it seems to me. Such might be implemented either by Service Packs or by Acceleration. I just found quite a lot in city related files but actually I have no idea where to search for the remaining ones.

I'm not sure (maybe I overlooked something) how to influence the organisation (categorisation) of the files.

However, I'm going to answer in English in order to avoid Google translations that are more than doubtful. :rotfl:

If your answer was referring to my question regarding missing objects I'm not quite sure whether it really fits (or I don't understand what you wanted to tell me). Actually I'm referring to FSXA and objects being used in its sceneries that are not included in the present ADE database. The opened airport was default FSXA and had nothing to do with ADE. Therefore I was surprised to see such many "black boxes".

Axel,
I never addresserd You anyhow. You never where anyhow involved in this thread by any means.
So I do not understand your point or why you answered by any means. My be you answered by accident in this thread.

Christian,
My comment within this thread addressed in general missing default objects in the database shipped with ADE even if Jon wrote about his mistakenly added extended version shipped with it. I guess I'd been too short in order to point out the context. Your posting in German followed directly my own comment. How could I think that I wasn't the receiver? However, I just did not understand what you wanted to say (and I still don't). That's why I answered and I can assure you that no kind of aggression was intended. I'm sorry if you felt offended by anything I wrote - I wasn't. :whiteflag

To be honest, I was very excited when I first saw these objects, as I have often tried to find ones like them! Finding this thread, although helpful, was a bit of a disappointment that the actual objects indeed did not exist. (that it wasn't just me being incapable in locating libraries). May I ask where you found these objects, so that I may too be able to use them?

Thanks.
LM

All the objects exist. You would need to find the libraries to use them. The library object manager will tell you which libraries they are in.

So, can we get a dat file posted or whatever kind of file is required that we can drop into 1.6 so we only have the stock libraries show up?

I for one would like this so I know that what I pick will show up in my project since I have no idea what the stock only libraries consist of.

Yes there is a 'base' dat file. I would have to upload it though since it is not currently available online. There are two different files one for FS9 and other other for FSX and later
