Creating a Global AI Shipping Package for FSX

Hi all,

I had an error at P3D, double entry at "AI_Conni_Fishing_Boat". I have looked inside "sim.cfg" and found this,

[fltsim.10]
title=AI_Conni_II
model=Conni_M2
texture=Denmark
ui_manufacturer=Henrik Aa Nielsen
ui_type=Fishing_Boat

[fltsim.11]
title=AI_Conni_II
model=Conni_M
texture=Denmark
ui_manufacturer=Henrik Aa Nielsen
ui_type=Fishing_Boat_Wooden_House

similar titles.

I suppose the 2nd title must be "AI_Conni_III" or something similar but what about the traffic, it must be corrected too right?

Thanks

hi - the traffic is okay - and neither FSX nor P3D actually makes a problem out of this, unless you ask P3D for the error log where it will appear- the second entry is just not read - you can just change the entry to AI_Conni_III as you guessed and it will be okay.

There is a new full pack on it's way where hopefully these minor things are all corrected.

Henrik,

Do your wakes work also in P3Dv3? They were (are?) extrusions and I was convinced they would be broken up when spawned on uneven surfaces.
Hi
Inserting "Ground Decal=1" in all the particle sections for the parts of the Wake which has to stick to the surface it works fine also with extrusions. Below an example from one of the sections in the Wake effect for Arctic Princess.

Henrik, hi,

I am not sure whether I have downloaded all your models and all your sceneries.
Hence my question whether you have already the Bonanza Express Fred Olsen Lines (Canary Islands).
If not, I could convert (given the time and in between spring yard work to rest my poor back) the Alboran catamaran into the Bonanza Express (for instance). That would not take too long because it is mostly the length, the upper deck construction and the texturing that has to be modified.
Unless you have another suggestion that you think is more needed?

Hi,
If you download and install Global AI Ship Traffic V1 http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxscen&DLID=194715 then you will not just have all packages and all fixes installed you will also get improved model behaviour in P3D for a large number of models.
I do not have the Bonanza and all high speed ferries will be most welcome for the next update.
And then a curious thing which I discovered lately - I actually spent a week on your "Larkspur" model which is included in the project. It was when I was 13 and the ship was called Gedser. http://www.ferry-site.dk/ferry.php?id=7500451&lang=da It was a part of a school program to get to know different career paths... I never became a sailor, but at least I did a lot of virtual ships later... :)

Yes that is the one. It is an old ship and has a long history. When I made it it was still the ferry from Ostend to Ramsgate.
I have learned a lot in the meantime, so this new catamaran should not give you so much work anymore:).
But mine is working fine without your extra work:confused:.

You'd better take out the Larkspur in your next update:(.
Looks like it is called now the Lucky Star but it does not seem to be so lucky at all:

I'd better try and make a newly built ferry, a fast and newly built catamaran and I will therefore better check whether the Bonanza is old or new before I further work on it.
Any suggestions?
What about this one? The advantage is that there were 6 built - four are apparently still in service - you can have several interesting repaints and it is in service in very different areas. I actually had it on my list for the last package, and it would be a nice addition.

Meanwhile some progress on my last little 400 meter baby boat - the CMA CGM Vasco da Gama:

I hesitate to say this since I may get shouted at.

I seem to be missing texture KEY-MARMARA from AI_Jonas:

As usual... no visual impact, no performance impact, so forget it or copy a texture from the Key Marmara folder, but it will not change the visual appearance. And again I will not go back and change models from 2 years ago for minor issues like this - the risk of doing more damage than good by messing around with old files is bigger than potential benefits.
