• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Here's another one?

I am currently building aircraft carriers.

When I try to place a static airplane on the flight deck it defaults 0 feet altitude.

But when I have used one on a land mass it was on the surface.

In this case the runway is set to 66ft altitude. Might there be a way to force the static item to the runway elevation? Maybe a check box on the "Airport Properties" to define the airport as an aircraft carrier an tell the object placer to use the airport elevation for the default elevation?

I assume the airport is set to the runway altitude? Library Objects are generally placed AGL - that is above ground level. I suppose ground level is found to be the sea. I will add this to the list Bob

Thanks,

Aircraft carriers are an unusual situation. But they are also interesting.

I can make it work by setting the elevation manually but automatic would be nice.

The few carriers I have found are pretty primitive. now I am finding out why!

Here is a small nuciance

If I select a library object, click "Edit Object", edit the object then close the edit window the object is deselected.

I think it would be better to leave the object selected.

Would it be possible to add point markers as well as the guidelines. At the moment I use NDBs which of course won't compile (unless I change every frequency). The attached gives you an idea, this is me preparing to fix Yam Island's terrain problems;

Something else that would be nice would be to use the FS background as a map. Their land masses don't really match real world maps.

What I would like is a map that is repesentative of the FS land mass. This is important for shorelines and islands.

Hi Jon,

When working in the Approaches section, would it be possible to respect the collapsed/uncollapsed status of the transitions? If I collapse the transitions so that only the names are visible, if I add a new leg to one of them it re-expands all of the transitions.

How about a single command to lock everything to the airport. But still allow moving and rotating the airport?

Thanks Guys

I will add these to my list to look at :)

I think I forgot to mention too it would be nice to have a Lock All/Unlock All at the bottom of the respective Lock/Unlock menus

How about the ability to add vertex's to the existing aprons created to help round areas out to a non-pixelated semi-circle. AFCAD i think has that ability to an extent.

I am not sure I understand that.... :o
