• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

A tool for getting rid of airport plateau's and holes created when using FSGenesis mesh with default mesh - it applies to both FSX and FS9, although effects are worst in FS9.

Have you looked at the terrain tools in ADEX and the Flatten Tool in ADE9

A tool for converting FSX sceneries created using ADE so that these can be used in FS9.

FSX2FS9 already exists as a separate tool - is that what you mean?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have. I understand that the areas around affected default and addon airports can sometimes be 'smudged' using flattens so that the plateau effect is minimised.
What I was hoping for, probably unrealistically, is a tool that would do this seamlessly for the hundreds of airports and surrounding areas whose default terrain elevations are significantly different from those in FSGenesis/FSXGenesis meshes.

Yet again I have missed something obvious. Where to find this tool?

Great Stuff, as always. Many thanks.

To update use the menu at bottom left instead of Help.

Ah - shows how much I remember about how my own softare works :o In my defense the menu entry is there and should do the same thing.....

Maybe a little late, but i have also a suggestion :

Wen you go to "Tools" "Libaries Used", you got a list of third Party Libraries .

Maybe you can make it possible to print that list ?

I think we have that - but I will make sure :)

EDIT

On the list at [10241]

can the option to compile out objects as a separate BGL be a project-specific option?

the ability to change a legtype in the approach w/o having to create and delete to get the desired result would be awesome.
take CF to aTF or DF. currently you have to add a new and delete the old..
also an easier way to 'move' the leg position in the appch list 'move leg up one' or down one.

grabbing the perpendicular lines at either end of a guide and being able to drag along the guide's length to increase or decrease it?

given the trouble I often have adding vertex points to an apron or fence or polygon and instead selecting something else or de-selecting the object I'm wondering if the program takes into account that I have the Ctrl key already depressed in anticipation of adding a vertex. So if there is an apron, poly or fence already selected and the Ctrl key is depressed, the program shouldn't bother looking to select/de-select anything.

So instead of me having to "find" the area around the edge that prompts the program to tell me "ok click here with Ctrl depressed to add a vertex" now when a suitable object is selected and I press Ctrl I'm telling the program "I want to add a vertex" and it just pops one at the nearest edge to the cursor.

I will need to investigate how this might be done. I have added it to the list [10268]

Please don't do this - I don't want ADE adding vertices without me clicking! It could be more generous in its click area for this process when the Ctrl key is held down though.

No worries - any adding vertices would have to be under user control :)
