• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Sukhoi Su26MX for FSX

Hey guys,

I've got a question: where do you get good blueprints? I'm thinking of remaking the engine, because it should be possible to make it more accurate. Besides, I'd like to give it a try to get it 3D-printed, but then it should look better ;) However, with Google Pictures, I can't get what I want

Cheers,
Daniël

Thanks! I didn't had that photo yet, mine are never from the front, but always from an angle:

So hopefully I can get a picture from Vedeneyev, although they don't make the engine since some years ago

Okay, don't know what is going on with my pc now....
The texture I made so far has to be orange, as you can see on 1 of the pictures. However, on the render I made today, my airplane went yellow (only with the render) Do you guys know a solution?

And the new one:

Edit: I noticed that the needles turned black, while they should be white and black. Same problem?

Cheers,
Daniël

Bright light and the 'distortion' of the glass material. You can peek below the canopy frame at the port side and see it is orange ;)

It looks really, really nice!

Looks absolutely amazing:)

Glad to see another Blender project.
Thanks!

Way better now, just turned the light a bit down :) (Thanks @DCB!!)

Actually, I haven't done much about modeling, but I guess it is for 90% done. So what is left, are texturing (which I do not have any talents for unfortunately), animating and programming. Personally, these are less pleasant, but it has to be done. (Altough I have to say that when I'm reading the Pilot Manuals, I'd really like to have the Aspen working correctly, just because it looks nice ;)

Hope you guys like her!

Happy flying,
Daniël

Beautiful mate! You now can carefully start to work in a model file with applied modifiers, so optimizing your model for FSX.

Thanks! Still a lot to do, especially when I start to think about texturing the cockpit
Looking forward to fly her :)

Thanks!

I've got a question for you guys: should cables (like the ones for the rudder pedals and the cowlflap lever) be moving? Gives it the extra detail which is appreciated or is this not necessary? I know it is difficult to animate because of the curves of the cable makes, but if you like it, I'll give it a try ;)

Just a quick show of this lovely plane in the sim. We're on a holiday to the Cayman Islands ;)
Unfortunately, I got some engine problems: when the throttle is closed, the engine falls out. When I'm flying, it happens when my airspeed is 0 km/h. And I still don't know what I did wrong
Anyway, here are the pictures:

Well deserved that you can take shots now ;)

You could set your throttle_lower_limit in the .cfg to a bit more than 0%, to prevent the engine from shutting down if the lever is closed.

This is not unusual if you are using the stock throttle animation code and can be corrected as @Dutcheeseblend said. For some vintage aircraft it was required of the pilot to increase throttle in order to maintain idle speed. This may be desirable depending on the aircraft being modeled. If during maneuvers you should reach 0 IAS just nose over and air pressure against the prop will restart your engine. If not you better find a place to land quickly.
