• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Quick update on my CYTZ scenery. I've gone full veggie the last week or so. Lots of fun, but quite a challenge trying to find the right balance between lush flora and smooth frames (I hand-placed a huge amount of grass before I realized the frame hit was--at that point--around 40%). The list of things still to be done is long.

Looks verry good!

Here's a quick look at the airport railway station, far from done but the dome is taking shape ;)

Just want to say that you are doing an excellent job on your CYTZ scenery. Freeware or payware, I am looking forward to this. Keep up the good work.

Verry nice! I'd love to see that animation at work in FSX :)

Thanks.
I will try nevertheless I have no experience on FSX animation at all... I think I will move things forward first and do animation after release, so I have more time to learn and implement.

Okay I get that. I'm now also making small animations in my project. However I'm also not exporting it to FSX yet so I'll first find if they'll work in FSX ;)

It's a big difference, currently also working on my first jetways so I'm hopefull they'll look as good ;)
Here's the train station on the Skytain end, skytrain still missing, stairs still missingbut it's taking shape :)

The first Jetway (left) I modeled long time ago, without proper reference images and just by imagination.. Second (right) one I was looking for Blueprints and mechanics. Yes mechanics of the jetway to understand how head is moving and and where the hinges are. Once I got that I modeled this. To find the thing you need, you have to call them right, so Jetway is not the word to be used at all.. Instead use Aircraft Passenger Boarding Bridge and add things like Drawings, Mechanics, e.t.c. With APBB Different results will popup rather than Jetway use. The same for Youtube videos as a source of references... ;)

There are so many models and manufacturers there so it is very difficult to find the right blueprint. Make a base model first and then the detail of one you have to model. I assume you have plenty of pictures/videos of your airport..
From other hand, jetways are not so recognizable as a shape of the building or an aircraft, just find one that looks very close to one you need..

The basics are obvious and with some meausuring of sattelite images you got the 2d pritty much narrowed down. The details such as ventillators, flashing lights and windows aren't going to be shown on blueprints anyway. So I don't know if using it for modelling is necessary. Looking how they turn but not modeling by the blueprints I'd say.

KBDL Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks, Connecticut...

I started off experimenting with Sketchup, Google Earth Pro, CG Textures, PaintShop Pro X6 and any online photo I could find. I have never been anywhere in Connecticut, but felt compelled to get my first ever 3d modeling project started in a location with multi-use airport. And also to build up an airport that has little to no distributed downloads (payware or freeware). This is far from payware quality, admittedly upfront, but since no other full renderings of this airport were readily available, I hope it will be welcomed by some folks.

This was initially a learning experiment to figure out how to bring photo textures into FSX scenery and was never intended to be the complete airport. However, I started at the end of January 2015 and only have buildings left before I make anything available. I captured 70 screenshots across the field and found some areas to fix so here are just a few photos.

By the way I cannot find any street level or even birds-eye views of the Army National Guard facilities and have not a single clue as to what the faces of the headquarters building look like.
Everything I have modeled has been done completely by hand based on estimations of dimensions using tools in Google Earth and Bing maps. The main terminal was found on 3D Warehouse and was originally shared by a user named Nicky kid. I am also trying to figure out how to contact this person to ask for sharing approval. In the interim I might just model the entire main terminal minus the old terminal which I believe started demolition in late 2014.

Lastly, because I have modeled the scenery based on imagery, I have realigned the hard surfaces to match MegasceneryEarth.

As far as there is designers who working on Ajjacio, we cancel this idea.
After discussing, our next project will be LJLJ Ljubljana Airport.

Hi! I am currently making a freeware scenery of VTPM Mae Sot Aero in Thailand. This is my first scenery so I am still learning the basic. Mae Sot Aero is only flights are Nok Air, Kan Air, and some charter flights. I am still trying to find a good texture for a white building so the building I made is just a cream color. I also have to purchase a 3D object placer program so I can add the small details.

If anyone has any improvement tip, I would appreciate it. I want to make good quality freeware of small airports in South East Asia area. I should have this project complete soon.
