• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Forum update

The new look looks fine to me. One thing I liked about the old forum is that the links in bold print represented a new post in that thread. If that same function can be applied here, that would be great.

Found it: on a user's profile page there are two tabs for this: Recent Activity and Postings. Cheers, Arno and Co! :wave:

I fixed the signature pictures now as well. It seems they had not been imported by the import script, so I copied them over manually from the old forum.

They are in bold here as well. I have no problem seeing them, but many people report issues. So that's something we will consider when tuning the colours and fonts more.

Like I say i can't tell if it is just me that can't see the images, but i have tried different devices and on each one the images cannot be seen. I was trying to post a couple new ones and those didn't seem to want to appear. The images are linked from photobucket.

I've had some luck with this. If I type " [\IMG] image URL here" the image comes up fine, however, using the add image function still renders no result, so it must be the way photobucket gives me the link?

Here is the correct format for bbcode image inserts. Case doesnt matter for most parts of the code.

As you can hopefully see I have tuned the style a bit more. I hope these colours are more easy on the eyes and that you can take off your sunglasses again now :D
 
It looks better. Can we can increase the thickness of the post-seperator breakbar? Maybe double or triple its current size. This will help with differentiating one post from the next. Its no that big of a deal if we cant.

Or shade every other post a different shade of the same color.
 
I tried to stay close to the colours of the logo, that's why I took the yellowish colour.

Well, even so colours are a minor point. You've done a much better job than avsim. Their forums go down almost every day for one reason or another.

I'm sure they have a much bigger user base, so that makes it more challenging. But we're happy how things are running indeed.

To be completely fair, AVSIM's forum server has been suffering from a failing hardware controller module that was causing a lot of "soft errors". It finally failed completely a few days ago and was replaced by the service techs. Since then, forum access has been much, much faster and more reliable.

Hi Arno,
I like the new look and style so much. However I miss the small flag to indicate the nationality of the users. It is important for Non-English speaking people. If we have a flag, you guys who are native speakers can tone down the idioms or make a more easy English.

Good point - I liked the flags. Even the country would help......
