• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Marketing/writing 101: Avoid repetitions in your product pitches and be precise.

This:

"KsimSaver is a free flight scenario saving tool. KsimSaver makes a flight scenario save each interval. What does this mean? KsimSaver saves the current flight you are in each specified amount of seconds automatically! KsimSaver uses SimConnect SDK to connect to your simulator and save the current flight scenario!"

Should be this:

"Ksimsaver is a free tool for Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D that saves your current flight in a specified time interval using SimConnect."


This:

"What sim versions does KsimSaver support?
KsimSaver supports all versions of FSX and P3D. Support for X-Plane is being looked into :)"

is not needed because simulator compatibility is mentioned in the description above and system requirements below. X-Plane support could be too complex to implement without rewriting everything, so best don't mention it at all or turn it into a separate product.


This:

"A non-pirated copy of FSX or P3D."

Should be this:

"FSX RTM, SP1, SP2, Acceleration or Steam Edition.
Prepar3d v1/2/3/4"

Implying piracy in product descriptions is always bad.

And yes the x-plane version is already undergoing testing and will be a separate product. it was stupid of me of adding that in the KsimSaver description as it will be and always was going to be separate from the current version.

I have P3Dv4 with Window10
I unzip «KsimSaver.zip» to my desktop
Then follow your instruction; Put the file "Ksimulations KsimSaver" in my "C:\Users\Your User\Documents\Prepar3Dv4 Add-ons\"
And when i start P3Dv4 for the first time it ask me to enable and i click YES. Next time i start P3Dv4 it des not ask me.
But there is Nothing that tell me if it is working.
Where do i go to see if any scenario are saved and at what frequency (seconde or minute) and how many (only one or multiple)

When p3d starts KsimSaver will ask to run with administrator rights. (If p3d isnt already running with administrator rights).
If you have clicked yes to enable the addon, it should start up the KsimSaver.exe.
If it doesnt please try to run it manually in „/Documents/Prepar3D Add-ons/Ksimulations KsimSaver/KsimSaver/KsimSaver.exe”.
The program should open and show the main page of the program.
If that did solve the issue please in P3dv4 go to options > add-ons and vertify that KsimSaver is enabled. If running the .exe manually did not work please reinstall .Net framework 4.7 as that is required to run KsimSaver.
( .net framework 4.7 is noted as a requirement for KsimSaver on the website.)

i have .net Framework 4.7.1

And it seems to be the same as « previous flight» !

Can it save mutiple flight at different time ? ( can i control the number of flight and interval it saves)

Yes thats what the settings page is for ;) click the gear icon to open up the settings.

Now, on my wish list :

It would be nice if we could limite the number of autosave, so we cannot overfill the file where it is save (i have limited space), cause i do not want to save a 100 or more files ,
Say as exemple if i could limite at 10 files, so the next autosave (number 11) file would replace file number 1 and so on...

Hope you undrestand my idea cause i'm not English...

That is something that is in development. i released the beta just to get it out to people to see if there are any major bugs with the main logic of the program. Now that KsimSaver has had some updates since release (minor fixes) i am working on features like you mentioned limit the autosaves to a number of saves.

BTW if KsimSaver doesnt start when p3d starts, Delete the Ksimulations KsimSaver folder. Then run your sim. close your sim. and put the folder back in. that should solve it not starting with p3d.. it should re-ask you to add KsimSaver to the addons list

Its me again !

2 bugs to report;

I did what you said and now it start automaticaly when i strat P3Dv4 but it does not show in the simulator menu « Add-ons»
And when i close P3Dv4 , i have a bell that rings every 2 secondes. i have to go in the Windows10 menu at the bottum right and close it there to stop the bell...
I have version 0,0,0,8

Yes that is a bug that is known, im soon releasing a update to fix that annoying bell sound each 2 secs. that is just a warning that KsimSaver isn't making auto-saves.

And KsimSaver is not supposed to show up in the «Add-ons» menu. No need for that, all you need is in KsimSaver itself.

Sorry as much as i want to release new updates, and a new update is almost ready i had to put aside the project for some personal issues i've been having. im really sorry about this. But ill try my best to get back as soon as possible
 
Can someone tell me exactly what this saves in case p3dv4.3 crashes or i want to restore it. Can I save it to another harddrive to restore back. Just don't want to loose my stuff. Say I have scenery or ai's on a separate drive..how does that work.

KsimSaver only saves the current flight scenario, so for example your flying and your sim unfortunately crashes, you can load right back up to where the last save was made. KsimSaver does NOT recover your flight simulator scenery or other addons, only the current flight scenario.
